Social media forms and builds relationships with others that you may have never had the opportunity to deal with otherwise. Big business comes from relationships. Consumers will always do more business with a familiar presence than a totally unknown entity. From this personal interaction you will also find out how to better serve customer needs and work directly on their concerns. This personal service influences loyalty in your customer base. Loyalty is what keeps your customers coming back to you and your products. Be sure that to get the best benefits from social media you follow some basic etiquette too. Try to be consistent at least visit and update a few times a week. Remember to put yourself in the public a lot. Social media is also about letting your personality shine through. You don't want it to appear as if you are only there as one big advertisement. Then you will be exiled as one of those spammers just ego promoting and you will lose customers and friends in the process. On Monday, August 10th the Search Engine Strategies and Search Engine Watch kicked off their 11th annual Search Engine Strategies conference in San Jose, California. The three-day conference opened and closed with two training days on Monday and Friday. There were over 70 sessions, covering a wide spectrum of Internet marketing industry including Pay-Per Click, Search Engine Optimization, duplicate content, social media, link building, and video optimization to name a few. This massive conference also included a two-day expo floor with over a hundred companies.
